Included in each of our programs is weed control applications which will combat over 50 various types of broadleaf weeds such as bittercrest, dandelion, poa anna, crab grass, spurge, henbit, and dollarweed. The weed control practices featured in each of our programs includes applications of pre-emergents in the spring and winter to combat various weeds either before they emerge or stifling them to not complete their full life cycle and be allowed to reproduce. During the primary growing months of April thru September various weeds are combated through spot spraying with selective products that will curb emerging weeds and limit damage to surrounding grass.
Grassy weeds are typically variety of weeds that grow and appear similar to grass with the exception of having unsightly seed heads or different textures and colors from the established turf. Grassy weeds such as nutsedge and dalisgrass will germinate during the growing season and if left untreated can take over areas of the lawn. These grassy weeds will then die in the fall and winter months as temperatures drop, leaving bare areas where the lawn could not compete with these weeds. Treatment of grassy weeds typically consists of spot applications using a combination of selective chemicals which target the weed type.
